TOM PELOSO is using his break from Modest Mouse to release a solo album called THE LAST SATURDAY OF THE YEAR. Recorded earlier this year at MONKEYCLAUS STUDIOS in Nelson County, Virginia, the album is set for release on December 27. Tom enlisted help from some old friends on the recording, and here is a word from Tom to fill you in on some details...
The album is entitled “the last saturday of the year” there is no band name as of yet.
The project or session i called laundry songs, was recorded in a months time at monkeyclaus recording studio
in beautiful nelson county virginia. it involved friends coming from a variety of backgrounds and bands
(the fugs, elliott smith, hickey and the statler bros. to name a few).
right now, it looks like there will be 11 songs on the record with titles including
“the night sky” , “hold on to what you got” and “the last saturday of the year”.
the music is based on riffs and ideas i have been gathering for quite some time
and earlier this year seemed like the right time to record it all. abel okugawa and raphael wintersberger
were able to capture the ideas and create some amazing tones and sonic wonderfullness.
scott mcpherson layed down a majority of the drum tracks and matt rissler is featured on guitar throughout the record.
there are other contributors including darell hyden, terry la fon, austin fitch, matt boyle, rob widdicombe and coby batty.
